June Outdoor Events in Columbus

Summertime in Columbus is full of great outdoor events. From festivals and musical performances to art shows and great eats, there is no shortage of ways to entertain yourself this summertime around Columbus, Ohio. Kicking off in May and running all the way through early September, everyone we know is eager for a great Columbus summer, sunshine, family time, and fun with friends. Here are some of our favorite outdoor local events coming up this June that we can’t wait to check out!

The Memorial Tournament  

There’s no better way to kick off summer than to start with Memorial Day weekend and a little outdoor golf. The Memorial Tournament is a premier annual event on the PGA TOUR and it’s held right here in our backyard at Muirfield Village Golf Club. Running from May 27th through June 2nd, and priced at $35.00 per person, this tournament is sure to turn up some of the biggest names in Golf and offers a weekend full of entertainment and fun.

Columbus Arts Festival

The Columbus Arts Festival is one of our favorite annual events and is a MUST SEE! Located at the downtown riverfront, over 270 professional artists come together to showcase their amazing creations. A plethora of visual art, performing artists, and even a hands-on activities village make-up this favorite summer pastime of many Ohioans. And with popular food trucks and local craft brews available, you can make the Columbus Arts Festival an all-day event for the whole family. Check it out June 7th – June 9th at the Columbus Downtown Riverfront on the Scioto Mile.

Creekside Blues and Jazz Festival  

Boasting the “best blues and jazz in all of Ohio”, the Creekside Blues and Jazz Festival promises to offer over 90 hours of great blues and jazz music as well as entertainment for the whole family. This three-day event is held June 14th – 16th at the Creekside Park and Plaza in Gahanna, and the sponsors and organizers of this event have gone out of their way to ensure there is a little bit of something for everyone in attendance. They offer five stages of entertainment, a variety of mouth-watering food and delectable treats, regional artisans, amusement rides, and a program of family activities, ensuring a long weekend of fun and entertainment for every generation of your family.

Columbus Pride Festival

Hosting around 500,000 attendees a year, the Columbus Pride Festival is one of the largest pride events in the Midwest. This outdoor event includes a parade, over 180 local vendors, three music stages, and separate entertainment and educational areas for teens, families, and pride trailblazers – ages 50 and over. This year’s pride festival will take place on June 14th – June 16th and will be held at Scioto Mile.

Luckily for us, in Columbus, Ohio we are fortunate to have a variety of great activities and events. Our local community seems to be full of great chefs, artisans, makers, entertainers, and musicians, and we love every bit of it! There is no better way to support your local artists and entertainers than to attend their events, admire their creations, and buy locally. Each one of the outdoor June events we’ve mentioned will be hosting a variety of local vendors, giving us all even more reason to get outside and enjoy these great family-friendly activities.
